About This Site

My name is Klayton Kelly.

There are a lot of words I could use to describe myself: quilter, fiber artist, music enthusiast, muscle car owner, Jeep driver, writer, thinker, and more. KL8N, besides being a long-used abbreviation of my first name, seemed like the natural title for a place to share my work, knowledge, and thoughts with others.

KL8N Is:

  • A place for a quilter and fiber artist to share work and knowledge with others.

  • A shop to find homes for the work I produce.

  • A space for a kidney disease and cancer patient to share his experience.

  • A small attempt to reconnect with the world from a life narrowed by serious illness.

  • A place to put the ideas about a whole jumble of subjects that fill my head.

This is more than a portfolio with a blog attached.

This is my life and the things I care about, along with the meaning I put into it by creating works of practical art. Over time, I hope this evolves into a unique artwork of its own.
