Went in today for another CT scan on my chest, and a follow-up with the surgeon. It's been five weeks since the surgery. The graft on my scalp is doing very well, and he did some cleanup, trimming off loose skin on the edges. He also removed some stitches that were poking out on the incision site on my neck. Both look good, and he said the skin graft is healed enough to go ahead and get started with the radiation treatments. I go in tomorrow to begin that process. They'll do a bunch of scans that the radiation oncologist will use to map out where the treatments will be focused. Once he has that done, I'll know how long the whole thing will be, and how many days a week.
The CT scan was mainly to check on the nodule in my lung the surgeon has been concerned about. It is a tiny bit bigger than a month ago, when it was a tiny bit bigger than the month before that. He's referring me back to the pulmonary doctor, and I may end up having another bronchoscopy and biopsy.
I'm still doing pretty well with all of it. The hardest part is over with now that I'm mostly healed up from very involved surgery. I'm ready to go on to the next thing and get it done.
