Back to the hospital with me yesterday after a couple nights waking up several times in respiratory distress. I was on home oxygen on a fairly high level, and my oxygen saturation was reading at appropriate levels, but... that didn't really mean much considering we now know I didn't have enough red blood cells, etc, in my system to carry that oxygen. I got blood transfusions yesterday and today (good Christmas gifts from those who donated it, thank you whoever you are). Now I'm breathing a bit better. Apparently there is some residual bleeding somewhere. I'm getting an upper GI scope done tomorrow to see if anything is going on there. Pulmonary doc seems to think this is more of what I went in for a few weeks ago, and continued monitoring and healing is the thing. Today I'm having a quiet Christmas in my hospital room, which is not ideal, but it's exactly where I need to be after the scares I've had the past few days. I can actually sleep a bit knowing I will be taken care of it anything happens, and my poor mom gets a break from basically 24 hour vigilance over my condition. I hope everyone who reads this is having a good Christmas. If you have people you love around you, tell them so, and give them great big hugs. And take five minutes sitting alone somewhere, close your eyes, and breathe. Do nothing else. Pay attention to the in and out of it, how it feels, and appreciate the hell out of it for the entire time.
