Had a follow-up appointment with my surgeon today. He took the bandages off my scalp and the donor site for the skin graft. There's kind of a sunken circle on top of my head with pale skin on top of it. I'd share a photo, but I don't think anyone would want to see it since it looks rather weird. (If you're into medical oddity type shit, DM me and you can see. 😆) Everything is well with the surgical sites, and all three are healing as they should. The lymph node and the tubes that were taken with it were examined to see how far any cancer has gone. Apparently they found cancerous cells all the way to the far ends of what was removed. So it may be farther out after all. Another chest CT scan has been ordered in a month to see if anything has changed there since the lungs are the next place to go along the path it already spread. All the involved doctors will have another conference in the meantime to discuss how to proceed. I may have to do immune therapy after all, which gets into decisions about transplanted kidney versus cancer treatment. I have an appointment next week with the medical oncologist and I should know more then. But the main thing now is what they know was cancer has been removed. Until I learn more, that's what I'm thinking about, and I'm very happy about it.
