At Virginia Mason Hospital

It's been one hell of a week. I had my annual visit with my primary doctor on Monday. While I was there, I got my flu and pneumonia vaccinations I was due for. One or both of them seems to have not played well with the immunotherapy drugs already coursing through my system. By Monday night, I had a migraine and bad nausea. The migraine lasted a couple days, and the nausea was so bad I could barely keep anything down until about Thursday night.

Yesterday, I went in and had labs done for my nephrologist. The results came back alarmingly off. Like much worse than I've ever seen them, even in the depths of kidney disease before my transplant. My nephrologist called me this morning basically saying go to the emergency room now. I spent the afternoon getting IV fluids, and having all my labs redone. By the numbers, I am in renal failure. I've been admitted to the hospital. They've put a line in my neck to do a round of dialysis tonight. I'll be here until at least Monday so they can do a biopsy on my transplanted kidney.

It's not clear right now whether this is something that can be cleared up, or if this is permanent. But I'm in the right place to find out, and will soon.
