At Virginia Mason Hospital

A little update at the beginning of day three in the hospital. It is almost certain that my transplanted kidney is being rejected. I had a round of dialysis yesterday, and I've just started a second round. Once a headache and some nausea cleared, I felt better after the first round. I could think more clearly, my mood improved, and I got a good night's sleep for the first time in several days. (A little refresher on what I felt like before my transplant.) There is a slim chance the renal failure is temporary, so I'm having a biopsy done later today to be sure. But I am mentally and emotionally prepared for it to go either way. I knew all along this was highly likely, and the priority is getting my cancer treated and beaten. At the moment, I'm being very well cared for, and everyone I've interacted with since I got here has been great.
