At Virginia Mason Hospital

About to have my permanent dialysis catheter put in. First step in being able to do it myself at home instead of spending 6 hours a day going to and being at the dialysis center 3 days a week.

Later:

Awake again and in recovery waiting for my wheelchair chauffeur to whisk me off to the car to go home. Just saw the surgeon pass through and he said everything went well. I've got a sore belly, but after all the intense procedures I've had this year, this one is pretty minor and certainly tolerable so far.
